Corona Extra Beer Recalled Due To Glass Pieces Inside

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/CBS) – Before you crack open that next bottle of Corona beer there's a recall you should know about.

Corona is recalling some 12-ounce Corona Extra bottles because there could be small pieces of glass in the beer.

The company says only a very small number of bottles are affected, about 5,000.

Constellation Brands, which owns Corona in the U.S., has announced a limited recall of Corona Extra 12-packs and 18-packs nationwide. The bottles being recalled "may contain small particles of glass," the company says, blaming the problem on a third-party supplier's defective bottles.

Corona Extra drinkers can check if their bottles are being recalled by looking for codes printed on the side of cardboard boxes the beer comes in, or the necks of the bottles.
