Local HS Basketball Teams Dominate Championships

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Three local teams came out on top in the state basketball championships this year.

Aliquippa High School won the PIAA Class AA championship in Hershey. The team boasted a 68-49 victory over Mastery Charter North of Philadelphia. This afternoon's victory capped off an undefeated season for the Quips.

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School came out victorious in their game against Lourdes Regional. The Trojanettes came away with 56-33 win Saturday in Hershey for the PIAA Class A title. It was the school's 8th championship.

Kennedy Catholic High School snagged the PIAA Class A State Final, beating out Mathematics, Civics and Sciences 71-60. This is the seventh state title in the school's history.

Taylor Allderdice boy's basketball team played Roman Catholic High School for the PIAA Class AAAA championship Saturday night. They lost 73-62, but they finished an incredible 28-2 season.
