Police sources told KDKA-TV News the body was that of a man. It was badly decomposed.

The Medical Examiner’s office stated that “the remains were skeletonized with weathering that is consistent with the passage of at least one year since death.”

There were no outward signs of foul play; however, the death is considered “suspicious” until an autopsy is performed.
