White Oak Officer Hurt During Arrest

WHITE OAK (KDKA) -- A White Oak police officer was hurt while trying to arrest two suspected thieves Saturday morning.

Police said on their Facebook page that two officers confronted two men in the area of Coulter Road and Main Street.

The area had reportedly been hit by thefts recently.

Police said the suspects began fighting with the officers when they tried to search a backpack. One of the suspects appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, according to officers.

One of the officers suffered a serious injury and will be off the job for awhile.

Several charges will be pending for both males as a result of the incident.
