Man Found Dead In Alley Near Pizza Shop, Police Investigating

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Allegheny County Medical Examiner says a man found dead in an alley near a local pizza shop died from blunt force trauma to the head, but how he suffered that injury is still a mystery.

Police say Jordan Bozich, 28, was pronounced dead at UPMC Mercy Hospital and are calling his death suspicious.

In Bozich's obituary, he's described as having the kindest, most loving heart with vivid blue eyes that could light up a room.

Police say Bozich, of Herminie, was pronounced brain dead at the hospital on Sunday. What happened the day before, Saturday around 2 a.m., police say is still unclear.

While Bozich's death is being considered suspicious, it hasn't been ruled as a homicide.

Police were called to the 100 block of Capital Avenue in Brookline Saturday for a man down.

The owner of a business nearby didn't want to be identified, but says Bozich was found in a gated alleyway near Fiori's Pizza.

She lives in an apartment above her business and says she woke up to the sound of a man rolling down the back hillside.

At first, she thought someone was trying to break in.

Then, she says she heard Bozich climbing on the garbage cans in the alley in an attempt to climb over the gate, fell off and hit his head on the cement.

Over at Fiori's, one employee said off-camera that he saw Bozich eating at the pizzeria every now and then. Bozich worked at Nakama in the South Side for about five years.

The manager says he was a good employee, and will be greatly missed.
