Get Marty: Zika Scare Makes Mess Of Man's Vacation To Puerto Rico

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Zika virus scare has made a mess out of a North Hills man's plans to fly to Puerto Rico and watch the Pittsburgh Pirates play baseball. That's when he called Get Marty.

"We were so excited. Now it's all ruined," says Frank Collucci.

Frank is a huge Pirates fan. When the team announced they were going to play two games against the Miami Marlins in Puerto Rico he immediately booked a trip.

Well, the Zika virus scare forced Major League Baseball to cancel the trip.

Frank booked his vacation through Priceline. The trip cost nearly $2,000, and he bought trip insurance. As soon as the Pirate games were moved to Miami, Frank called Priceline.

"They told me I can't get a refund. They told me travel insurance can't help in this case," he said.

That's when KDKA got involved. We immediately called Priceline. The company told Frank to file a claim. They also told his friends in the same predicament to file a claim.

Priceline promised they would alert their customer care people. Within a few days Priceline stepped up.

"We got a full refund for our trip. We are extremely thankful," says Frank.

Meantime, Frank's friends are still awaiting word from Priceline regarding their refunds.
