1 Killed In Motorcycle Accident In Lawrence Co.
WAMPUM (KDKA) -- One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in Lawrence County.
Officials say it happened on Route 288 near Darlington Road and Main Street in Wampum.
According to police, the motorcycle rider lost control approaching a bend in the road underneath a train overpass. The rider suffered a severe head injury when he was thrown from the bike.
A police officer did CPR until other first responders arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved, police said.
The victim's name is not being released, but officials say he was 40.
Route 288 was closed for about two hours while police investigated at the scene.
