Man, Woman Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two people are dead after a suspected murder-suicide in the Bloomfield neighborhood.

The victims have been identified as 79-year-old Louis Alviani and 70-year-old Delores Alviani. They were pronounced dead at the scene at 1:14 p.m.

Reports of the incident came in Saturday afternoon. It happened at a home in the 5000-block of Friendship Avenue in Bloomfield.

Police officials say a man called 911 operators "warning of what he was going to do." When they arrived on the scene, they found the couple's bodies in an upstairs bedroom.

According to neighbors, both were from Bloomfield and had lived in Bloomfield their entire lives.

Neighbor Angelo Runco says he was home when police filled his street.

"So I thought, 'What's going on?' and they asked me, did I know Lou, and I said yeah, and they said, 'Have the cops ever been here before?' And I said no. I said, 'You sure you're at the right house?'" he said. "And they kicked the door in and they found them both deceased."

"I saw her this morning, and I said to her, 'Are you playing bocce this year?' and she said, 'Yeah, we already had a couple games.' And everything seemed normal," he said.

Neighbor Patsy Runco said it was a shock to everyone who lived in the block.

"They were always together, they would go places together, and, you know, 'hi' and 'bye,' talk about the weather, never seemed like no problem," she said. "They seemed like a perfect couple. They went to church every Sunday."
