A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, called Lopata "a sweet guy, who was quiet, nice and always played with the kids."

She said, "Mark used to blow his horn every night when he drove by my house to make sure we knew he made it home safely."

His family is planning a memorial service in Aliquippa on Thursday.
