Police Arrest Beaver County Murder Victim's Boyfriend In Kentucky

BEAVER (KDKA) -- Police say the former boyfriend of a woman who was found murdered in Beaver on Monday, is now in custody.

Investigators gathered at an apartment building near the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Third Street following reports of a body found.

Officials identified the victim as 30-year-old Addaleigh Amelia Huzyak. Authorities went to check on Huzyak after she did not show up for work Monday.

Her cause of death has not been released.

A be-on-the-lookout was issued around 3 p.m. for the victim's boyfriend, Edward Baker Jr., who is accused of killing her. Police warned he could be armed.

Baker has been a registered sex offender since 2013 under Megan's Law. He left a suicide note at his father's house. Officers believe Baker killed Huzyak around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night.

"They are a formal couple, they broke up recently and he came here and killed her last night," Commander Eric Hermick said.

Around 3:40a.m. on Tuesday, State Police say Baker was taken into custody in Kentucky. The details surrounding his arrest are still unclear.

State police say they had been communicating with Baker, trying to convince him to turn himself in.
