Man Arrested For Taunting Police Horse, Other Pens Celebration Incidents

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Despite enormous enthusiasm surrounding the Pittsburgh Penguins win Sunday night, officials said Monday the celebrations were responsible, with few exceptions.

After the team reigned in its fourth Stanley Cup, people poured from homes, restaurants and bars to cheer with the City of Pittsburgh.

Firefighters extinguished four small fires. Two couch fires were put out in Mt. Washington, a loose newspaper fire was extinguished on the South Side and a mattress fire in Lincoln-Lemington was quickly contained.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on E. Carson Street for taunting a Pennsylvania State Police horse and disorderly conduct.

EMS transported a male who sustained a facial injury due to an assault on E. Carson Street.

Overwhelmingly, however, the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety reported crowds remained orderly throughout the evening and into the morning hours.
