Cops: Pa. Woman Fired Shot At Drive-Thru Burger King Clerk

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania woman has been jailed on charges she shot at a fast-food clerk at a drive-thru window and, separately, at a man staying at a nearby motel.

Fifty-four-year-old Mary Lou Check was arrested Tuesday after the alleged shooting at the Cloud Crest Motel where she was also staying in Mount Pocono. Police say none of the shots hit Check's intended target, though on hit the gas tank of a vehicle parked outside. It didn't explode or catch fire.

Before that shooting, police say Check drove to the East Stroudsburg Burger King and argued with the clerk over a past order, then demanded free food. Police say Check then fired a shot into the window before driving away.
