Ticketmaster's Class Action Lawsuit Settlement Leaving Some Customers Disappointed

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --Free tickets to a concert of your choice?

If only it could be that simple, but customers who use Ticketmaster are quickly finding out it's much more complicated than they realized.

A class action lawsuit was filed against the ticketing giant in 2003 alleging Ticketmaster failed to fully disclose all aspects of its UPS and order processing fees.

The good news is that every customer will get a discount code good for future purchases. Ticketmaster is also giving away $5 million in ticket vouchers for select Live Nation concerts through May 2017.

However, there's also bad news. The concerts are only available in select cities, and the Pittsburgh concerts are already sold out.

"It's cool they offer vouchers, but it's not so cool the concerts are sold out," Sarah Kochinski, of Mt. Lebanon, said.

"You get free vouchers, but all the shows are sold out, so that would be disappointing to me," Christian Kratsas, of Verona said.

"That's really disappointing. You were disappointed twice. At this point, I don't think that's the right thing to do," Angela Braun, of Mars, said.

Some concert-goers were hoping to use vouchers towards some bigger named stars.

In order to collect your outstanding voucher or vouchers, just head to Ticketmaster.com, log into your account and scroll down to active vouchers.

"I got an email back saying that they would refund part of the money that was charged in service fees, so I hope I see something in my account," Kratsas said.

As of Thursday morning, Ticketmaster released that it would be adding another $5 million worth of eligible tickets so more class members can redeem ticket vouchers.

KDKA's Amy Wadas reached out to Ticketmaster for comment Thursday evening, but has not yet heard back.
