Men Killed In Uniontown Shooting Identified

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- The two men killed Thursday in a Uniontown shooting have been identified.

Police can't confirm or deny at this point if both victims shot and killed each other.

Corey Johnson, 37, and Meshach Punter, 25, also know as Shack, were found dead in a home in Millview Street in Uniontown Thursday night.

It's been the talk on the street all afternoon.

"From what I heard, the dude came in the house and said I want my standoff and I guess dude came from upstairs to downstairs and started shooting and I'm like why," neighbor Jesse Haigh. Said.

Police recovered two handguns from the scene.

"There was another actor in the residence at the time. I'm not sure if involved or not. He's been interviewed probably reinterviewed, " Uniontown Police Lieutenant Thomas Kolencik said.

"I'm from Louisiana and going back to Louisiana put it that way," neighbor Patricia said.

Patricia has only been back for Louisiana for a week and was home with her grandson when the shooting happened around 7:15 p.m.

"We live way at the top. I didn't hear anything. But all I know is I watched it from the top window," Patricia said.

Neither man lived at the home but one might have been staying there with the tenant. They're both from Uniontown.

Fortunately, police say folks have been cooperating with the investigation.

"One nice thing with this is we have two victims. Friends and family in the community are coming forward with information rather than resorting to violence," Lt. Kolencik said.

Autopsies are being performed on both of the victims Friday.

It's unclear if anyone will be charged in this case.
