Man Found Dead Inside Car Near Funeral Home

NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- A man was found shot dead inside a car near a funeral home in New Castle Sunday.

Police say it happened around 8 p.m at the intersection of Walnut and Chestnut Streets, close to the Charlotte A. Sheffield Funeral Home.

Neighbors heard gunshots, but thought it was fireworks.

The victim has been identified as Vaughn Slaughter, 26, of Detroit, Michigan.

Slaughter was found in the passenger's seat and police closed the area off to investigate.
