D.A.: Aliquippa Employees Failed To Report Sex Abuse

BEAVER CO. (KDKA) -- Two Aliquippa School District employees are accused of failing to report sex abuse.

The Aliquippa Police Department and the Beaver County District Attorney's Detective Bureau filed criminal complaints Monday against substitute teacher Ahna Anderson and school board member Aileen Gilbert.

A report states that on Apr. 16, Anderson and Gilbert were shown a phone video of a sex act between a 12-year-old student and an older student.

Neither reported the sexual assault, as required by Pennsylvania's mandated reporter statute.

Both Anderson and Gilbert are charged with violations of the "persons required to report suspected child abuse" statute and endangering the welfare of a child.
