Man Pleads Guilty To Threatening Youth Football League Leaders
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A man has pleaded guilty to sending threatening letters to local youth football league leaders in Westmoreland County.
Joseph Loughner, 52, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of conspiracy, making terroristic threats and harassment for sending the letters. Three felony charges were dismissed.
Loughner wrote the letters to the leadership of the Mount Pleasant Junior Football League after a dispute among league officials and parents.
His coworker, 34-year-old Kimberly Ross, faces the same charges, but her hearing was postponed
Due to the threats, the league was forced to cancel the rest of its season. This year, fewer kids have signed up to play.
It is unknown how much restitution Loughner will be ordered to pay. The league wants $16,000, which equates to $4,000 for each game canceled.
