Autopsy To Be Done On Boy, 6, Found Dead In Fayette Co. Home

SMOCK, Pa. (AP/KDKA) - An autopsy is set on the body of a 6-year-old boy found dead in a Fayette County home under what authorities are calling suspicious circumstances.

Sources have identified the boy as Tristan Hurtt.

Nobody has been charged in the death of the boy, though police gathered evidence and spoke with others who lived at the home in Smock, a tiny village about 35 miles south of Pittsburgh.

The boy's father, his father's girlfriend and three other children also lived there.

Neighbors and state police say officers had been called to the home several times since the family moved in more than a year ago.

Fayette County District Attorney Richard Bower wouldn't say where the boy's body was found or how he may have died, saying "it's an emotional time for all of the parties involved, including the investigators."
