Pirates Calling Up Prospect Josh Bell

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The youth movement is already underway for the Pirates and another piece is being added to that Friday night.

Pirates first base prospect, and #3 overall prospect coming into the year, Josh Bell is on his way to join the big league club.

The news was broken by an unlikely source as one of Bell's trainer's sent out a tweet congratulating the 23-year-old switch-hitter.

Bell was hitting .324 at AAA Indianapolis so far this year, his second season at that level, along with 13 home runs and 53 RBI in 83 games.

Bell was drafted by the Pirates in the 2nd round of the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft.

To make room for Bell on the roster, the Pirates haev sent starter Tyler Glasnow back to AAA Indianapolis.

Pirates Pre and Postgame host Dan Zangrilli had the latest information on the Pirates plans for Bell and how long he may be here.
