Police Investigating Possible Attempted Child Luring In Forest Hills

FOREST HILLS (KDKA) – Police are investigating a possible attempted child luring in Forest Hills over the weekend.

According to police, the incident happened around 9 p.m. Saturday in the 4200 block of Greensburg Pike.

The ordeal has left the boy's mother shaken.

"I'm so worked up," said Jessica Smith, the boy's mother. "I'm ready to move. I don't want nothing to do with this area. I'm really upset."

A 4-year-old boy was playing in the front yard when a man pulled up in a car with a ball in his hand. The boy's mother was nearby and asked the man what he was doing.

"The window was down, and they had their hand out the window with the ball, saying something, 'Come here. Come here, buddy, come here.' I ran to him instantly and picked him up, and I'm like, 'excuse me,' to the car, and they pulled off so fast. They were gone," Smith says.

At that time, the man fled the area in the direction of Turtle Creek.

The man was described as being white and in his 50s with dark hair and dark-rimmed glasses. He was driving a small or medium dark green/black car.

"I just hope they don't come back," says Smith. "I hope the cops find them."

Forest Hills Police say this looks like a legitimate attempted child luring. They're on the lookout, and Smith says she is too. She's urging other parents to keep their kids close.

"Keep your kids near you because you never know," she says. "I never thought anything like this would ever happen to me."

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 and ask for Forest Hills Police.
