Fight Over Girl Spurs Fairchance Drive-By Shooting, 4 Arrested

FAIRCHANCE (KDKA) – Four people are facing charges for allegedly firing shots at a home in Fayette County early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the incident happened on South Oak Street in Fairchance around 3 a.m.

When police arrived, it was determined the shots were fired from a vehicle that had pulled up outside of the residence.

"I just don't feel safe in my own home, and if you should feel safe anywhere, it should be in your own home," said Michele Layhue, the homeowner.

Through the course of their investigation, police determined the vehicle was being driven by Noah Newland, 19, of Uniontown.

Newland is believed to be the one who came up with the plan to shoot up the home. A 19-year-old man inside the home was the intended target after a previous fight over a girl.

"Over a girl," said Layhue. "I refuse to believe anything else."

She says the suspects were after one of her grandsons.

"He don't live here. He just stays now and then," she said.

According to police, Newland along with Justin Porreca, 19, of Uniontown, and Joshua Supensky, 16, of Masontown, fired multiple shots into the home.

Eric Supensky, 26, of Masontown, was also a passenger in the vehicle.

"The forensic guy found eight slugs in the walls and 13 casings outside," said Layhue.

Four other adults were also inside the home at the time. One of them was Chris Edgar, who says he nearly took a bullet.

"If I would have stood up just a second earlier as I did, I would have got shot right in the chest," he said. "They was out to kill somebody."

All four suspects are facing a list of charges including, criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and firearms violations.

"Some of the weapons were stolen, some of them we're still working on trying to figure out who they belonged to and where they came from," said Trooper Stefani Lucas, of Pennsylvania State Police.

Joshua Supensky is being charged as an adult.

They are all being held in the Fayette County Jail on $250,000 straight cash bond. Additional weapons charges are expected against them.
