Man Charged For Standing Naked With Mannequins In Storefront Window

ZELIENOPLE (KDKA) – A Butler County man is facing charges for allegedly standing naked in his storefront window.

What happened at One Enchanted Evening last week, a store that focuses on bridal and prom dresses, is the talk of the small town of Zelienople.

Police were called to the area around 8:30 p.m. on July 20, for a report of a man standing naked in the window.

"Just knowing that happened is a little concerning," Zelienople resident Mary White said.

"I'm sure they're upset about it. They get some extra advertisement for them. Get some people in there," Richard Sansonetti, who works in the area, said.

Witnesses told police they spotted the owner, Peter Scolieri naked, standing next to mannequins in the display window after the store closed.

One witness took a picture on her cell phone and showed police. When Scolieri came out the back of the building, police say they smelled alcohol on him and noticed he was staggering and slurring his speech.

Authorities say he was acting defensive when police starting questioning him.

Police put Scolieri in the back of the cruiser. He demanded to speak to the chief, and then began bashing his head on the window.

"What's wrong with that guy? Why would you do that? Just because the mannequins are standing there with nothing on doesn't mean you have to," Greensburg resident Nancy Deutsch said.

Police let Scolieri's wife take him home instead of taking him to jail; however, he is being charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness and disorderly conduct.

His wife told police he'd never done anything like this before, but admitted she had noticed a change in him recently, especially with him staying after hours at the business.

"It's a business I've heard great things about. So, hopefully, they are able to bounce back and not lose business from it. Hopefully, it's an isolated incident," White said.
