Pa. Senator: 'I'll Eat Rat Poison Before I Vote For Hillary Clinton'

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Presidential candidate Donald Trump may have made some missteps in the past week, but support for him from some Pennsylvania lawmakers isn't wavering.

Pennlive reports that several Pennsylvania GOP lawmakers in the state legislature said they aren't backing off supporting Trump even after his difficult week.

One Senator, Scott Wagner from York, even went so far as to say he'd commit suicide before voting for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

"I'm not walking in and voting for Hillary. I'll start my car and leave the garage door down in my house before I do that. I'll eat rat poison first. I'm not voting for Hillary," he said.

Rep. Sheryl Delozier, R-Cumberland, also reportedly said she is supporting Trump.

"Trump is the Republican candidate, so my position is the same as it was, watching and waiting to see if he can lead the country," Delozier said.

This week Trump has refused to withdraw his criticism of the family of a Muslim soldier who was killed in combat in 2004.

He also refused to endorse Senator John McCain and Speaker Paul Ryan who both endorsed him.

Trump did make a rare admission that he was wrong - in claiming he saw a video of a U.S. cash payment going to Iran.

Trump tweeted today that "The plane I saw on television was the hostage plane in Geneva, Switzerland, not the plane carrying $400 million in cash going to Iran!"
