Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby Surprises Canadian Family

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Canadian family in Nova Scotia has an incredible story to tell after getting a visit from Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby.

According to the Montreal Gazette, Darryl Pottie put up a sign outside his driveway that read, "Sid please sign my jersey."

Pottie lives in Enfield and decided to put up the sign after learning Crosby would be in his home province for his day with the Stanley Cup in nearby Cole Harbour.

Pottie said he would leave the jersey hanging from the sign during the day and even hand it from his front window after dark in case Sid drove past.

After a week, with no visit, Pottie told the paper he had to take the sign down because he needed the plywood for another project.

But last Friday the doorbell rang and wouldn't you know it, Pottie was at work.

His wife answered the door in her bikini and it was Sidney Crosby.

Patricia says Crosby told her, "Hi I'm here to sign your jersey."

She says she went to change and Crosby hung out with her daughter Madisyn.

The mom and daughter took some photos with Crosby and he signed the jersey and some other items.
