Police Investigating Fatal Shooting In Northview Heights

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police are looking for two possible suspects after a deadly shooting in Northview Heights Estates.

Around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, an officer patrolling in the area heard gunshots and 911 received reports of gunshots as well.

The officer found Manly Banks III, 26, lying in the street, in the 800 block Mount Pleasant Road. Banks suffered at least one gunshot wound to his chest.

Paramedics transported him to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

At the scene, officers went after two possible shooters who ran into a nearby wooded area.

They called in a K-9 Unit as well, but no shooters were found.

Extra officers were also called to the scene to help control a large crowd that started to gather and was getting rowdy.

The Pittsburgh Police Violent Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.
