Pickup Truck Crashes Into Westmoreland Co. Home, Driver Flees On Foot

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A pickup truck crashed into a home in Westmoreland County and the driver fled the scene.

According to officials at the scene, the crash happened in the 7800 block of Route 819 in Hempfield Township around 3:45 a.m.

The truck went through a window of the home, but no one inside was injured.

Marsha Alcorn lives in the home and said she's feared that this would happen some day.

"It was actually like my worst nightmare, because I think about it a lot, because when I'm lying in the family room and stuff, they fly down this road," Alcorn said.

The driver reportedly ran from the scene.

"You don't drive into somebody's home and not know if somebody's in there, if you injured someone and just take off. You don't do that. I could've been lying on the couch," Alcorn said.

No other information has been released at this time.
