Coroner: Man, Ex-Wife Dead In Butler Co. Murder-Suicide

SARVER, Pa. (AP/KDKA) - A deputy coroner says a man and his ex-wife were found dead in a Pennsylvania home's basement in an apparent murder-suicide.

John Hanovick, of the Buffalo County Coroner's office, says he pronounced 43-year-old Lee Anne Negley and 44-year-old Todd Negley at 10:45 a.m. Thursday.

Lee Anne Negley's mother was the one who first discovered the bodies.

The two are divorced and the woman had been living at the home with her two daughters who are seven and nine years old. Todd was reportedly supposed to bring the kids home at 6 a.m. Thursday morning, but arrived without them.

Hanovick says the woman had multiple gunshot wounds and the man had a single gunshot wound. Police say it appears the ex-husband was the gunman.

"We believe he was the aggressor only because of the injuries sustained to the female," said Sgt. Rick Healy with the Buffalo Twp. Police. "He just went off the deep end because she was going to start dating and he ended up shooting her."

The shooting comes nearly two weeks after a central Pennsylvania man killed his wife and three children, and then himself.

Mark Short Sr., his wife Megan Short and the children were found dead Aug. 6 in their home in Sinking Spring. Officials say they'd been having domestic disputes and were ending their marriage.
