To say last year was a rough one for the Golden Lions would be a massive understatement as they plummeted to 1-8 and finished winless and in last place in the Greater Allegheny Conference.
Things won't be much easier for the Golden Lions, either, as they are in tougher conference but there are some reasons to believe they will at least compete for a playoff spot.
The Lions have six starters returning on defense and that includes their entire defensive line.
That unit is anchored by senior defensive end Dawson Leavines (5-11, 200) and junior defensive tackle Anthony Yanni (6-0, 225) and also features 6-foot-1, 220-pound end Will Edgar.
Dave Keefer is going to have to find a quarterback but that job is made easier because the strength of the team is at wide receiver.
All three starting receivers senior Adam Raggi, junior Tanner Hudak and junior Dausen Marry return and all three also start on defense, so Keefer has some options and some versatile players to build his team around.
