1 Arrested After Reports Of 10 Shots Fired

BELTZHOOVER (KDKA) -- Police arrested one man on a number of charges after shots were fired in Beltzhoover early Saturday morning.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Estella Street and Freeland Street. Police were sent to the scene for a report of 10 shots fired.

According to police, a gray, four-door vehicle was seen speeding in the area at the time the shots were fired. Officers later saw a vehicle matching the description speeding down Climax Street and then turning left on Curtain. The driver was described as a man with black hair and a goatee who was wearing a black t-shirt. Three other people were in the vehicle.

Police say they believed the people in the vehicle may have been involved in a robbery that happened earlier near Larkins Way and 19th Street. One of the suspects in the robbery was armed with a gun.

Police then found the vehicle crashed at the end of Eutaw Street. Two of the men who had been in the vehicle were located at Shiloh Street and Southern Avenue. Police interviewed and released one of them. The other, believed to be the driver, fled into a wooded area. Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area, and the K-9 located and bit the suspect.

The suspect -- identified as 24-year-old Daniel Dellenbaugh, of Burgettstown -- was taken into custody, transported to UPMC Mercy and later sent to the Allegheny County Jail.

Dellenbaugh is facing charges of escape, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and fleeing or attempting to elude police officers.
