Police Investigating Shooting In East Liberty

EAST LIBERTY (KDKA) -- A woman was injured in a Wednesday morning shooting in East Liberty.

Police were called to the intersection of Rippey and North Saint Clair Streets around 2:30 a.m.

According to police, a group of people were standing on the corner when a gray vehicle pulled up and opened fire.

A 19-year-old woman was shot in the stomach and transported to the hospital. She was initially listed in serious condition, but has since been treated and released.

Investigators had at least eight evidence markers out on the ground as they searched the area.

They set up a perimeter to look for suspects, but no one was found.
