Allegheny Co. Councilman Suspended From Job Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --A local politician has been suspended from his day job with the state Revenue Department, accused of sexual harassment.

Allegheny County Councilman Jim Ellenbogan is also the chief enforcement officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.

He's suspended from the department without pay after a female coworker says Ellenbogan sexually harassed her.

Ellenbogan told KDKA that he has worked with the woman for years. He said they were good friends.

KDKA's Marty Griffin: "Earlier we talked, you said that nothing happened."

Ellenbogan: "Nothing happened. That's all I'll say."

Griffin: "You've been wrongfully accused?"

Ellenbogan: "Yes."

Griffin: "Do you feel as if this is a personal thing that shouldn't have happened to you?"

Ellenbogan: "It shouldn't have happened to me. That's all I can say."

Griffin: "Does this damage you... do you think sir, politically?"

Ellenbogan: "I've been accused before of these things. They've always come out the same, as nothing, and this will, too."

Ellenbogan's suspension will not affect his seat on the Allegheny County Council.
