Police Investigating Shooting In Collier Twp.

COLLIER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after a shooting late Thursday morning in Collier Township.

The incident happened just before noon on Camp Hill Road. The view from NewsChopper 2 showed police and other law enforcement officials gathered at the scene.

One person was shot in the leg.

A SWAT team was called and eventually a suspect surrendered.

Neighbors say the shooting stemmed from two roommates fighting.

"I'm shocked completely. I have no idea what could have happened. I'm completely shocked right now," neighbor Katrina Rivera said.

Rivera lives right next door to the crime scene. She rushed home from work after learning that one of her allegedly neighbors shot the other.

"They're nice people. We talk to them and they've always seemed real nice. I've never had anything really weird happen with them or anything else," she said.

A couple of hours after the shooting, police took the suspect - handcuffed, into the back yard area, a wooded area, it appeared they were searching for a weapon. They had a long discussion with the suspect.
