PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Carmi Soul Food Restaurant on Western Avenue is a cozy haven for those who have a taste for southern cooking.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams is an occasional guest at Carmi. But recently, he showed up with a camera crew from the NFL.
They spent hours at the restaurant, shooting a public service announcement for breast cancer awareness.

She says Carmi is the setting for a breast cancer PSA, which aims to “motivate a lot of men to encourage their women to take the time.”

“It was a learning experience. There was so much going on, there were so many people, so many moving parts,” she said. “There were gaffers and lights and rolling things, and cameras that hung off people’s bodies. It’s exciting. And I think any time you have a chance to do something for somebody else, you should grab it with both hands.”
