One Killed In I-80 Crash Involving Tractor Trailer
MERCER COUNTY (KDKA) -- One person was killed when a tractor trailer and a car collided on I-80 in Lackawannock Township on Saturday morning.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-80 between 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.
Officials say the driver of a Buick, identified as 68-year-old Jeffrey Polichena, drove partially off the road, then traveled back onto the road, striking a guard rail. The vehicle was then hit by a tractor trailer.
Polichena was killed in the crash.
All lanes were closed between Exit 4A - I-376 East/New Castle and Exit 15 - US 19.
