Person Seriously Hurt In DUI Accident On Golf Cart

CUMBERLAND TWP. (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after an incident involving a golf cart left someone seriously hurt.

According to WHP, it happened at the Battlefield Resort in Cumberland Township.

Investigators believe that four people went "joyriding" in the rental golf carts to 7-Eleven to buy a pack of cigarettes.

On the way back from the store, one person reportedly fell from the cart and hit his head on the pavement. The fall resulted in serious injuries.

He was flown to a York hospital for treatment.

Police say alcohol consumption is suspected to be a cause of the accident.
