Burglary Suspect Found Dead In Stairwell, Pittsburgh Police Investigating
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police are investigating after a man was found dead in the stairwell of a downtown building Monday morning.
Officers were called to the scene around 6:20 a.m. for a burglary report.
Inside 333 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh Police found the body of a 46-year-old man inside a stairwell.
Investigators believe the man was a burglar who had entered an apartment on the 7th floor. A resident inside confronted the man and a struggle ensued.
He fled the apartment and was found dead on the fourth floor stairwell landing.
Detectives and employees from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office were on the scene for about three hours.
The eight-story building houses businesses and apartments.
The man has not been identified at this time.
