Mix Of Prayer And Politics Sunday At Pittsburgh Church

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Sunday service at Ebenezer Baptist Church was a mixture of prayer and politics. With the Presidential Election on Tuesday, Reverend Vincent Campbell strongly urged the congregation to get out and vote.

"You need to remind people, you need to give them a ride, it's Tuesday, and we need more than just our one vote," he said.

Many believe whoever wins Pennsylvania will win the election.

Congressman Gregory Meeks of New York is the latest Clinton surrogate to visit the state, he compared Clinton to Donald Trump.

"I can tell you about somebody that has a record, a lifetime record, of giving for others and not just for themselves," Meeks said. "I can tell you how he started his campaign with hate, dividing this country, I can tell you about his words, demeaning women."

Meeks said the next president could nominate three to four Supreme Court Judges. He said it's more than a vote for Hillary Clinton.

"Rosa Parks is on the ballot, Fannie Lou Hamer is on the ballot, Martin Luther King is on the ballot, and yes Barack Obama is on the ballot," he said.

"This is probably, I've said this for many years, the most important election in our lifetime," said Martin Luther King III, also on the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton. "My dad used to say a voteless people is a powerless people and one of the most important steps we can take is that choice step to the ballot box."

"It's important to get out and vote because too many have died for us to have the right to vote," said Kevin Walker.
