Officials Investigating Arnold House Fire

ARNOLD (KDKA) -- State fire marshals are investigating a blaze that seriously damaged a house in Arnold.

It happened Sunday on Taylor Avenue. Fire Chief J.C. Tedorski said the front of the house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived around 11 a.m.

Responders were able to contain the damage to the building and kept it from spreading to a neighboring home.

The people inside the neighboring house were unaware of the fire, until officer Dave Clouse rushed to get them to safety.

"I'm downstairs drinking coffee, watching TV," said Deneen Sobota. "He said 'Deneen you need to get out of your house, your neighbor house is on fire.'"

Clouse helped Sobota get her children, her dogs and a bird out safely.

"I cannot put it into words. It's a blessing we got out safe," Sobota said.

No one was injured. It is thought that the flames may have started on the front porch.
