Pittsburgh Police Arrest Accused Serial Rapist

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police have arrested a man they say raped several women over the past few months.

Twenty-nine-year-old Justin Stover, of Beechview, was arrested Thursday around 5 a.m. on Brownsville Road in Knoxville.

Stover is facing multiple rape charges, described by sources as a sexual predator and a serial rapist.

A man who lives across from an alleyway in Knoxville where one of the alleged rapes occurred says he's relieved the suspect is in jail.

"It's amazing, you know, because I've got grandkids who work at the McDonald's, so they come home and they come down [past the alley]," he said, "so yeah, I'm glad they got the guy, that's for sure."

Investigators say the second alleged rape occurred at a house in Beltzhoover. They say the suspect pushed through the boarded up window of an abandoned home and raped a woman inside.

James Burks, of Beltzhoover, owns the home next door to the abandoned home.

"He doesn't deserve to be on the street," he said.

Sources are convinced Stover may be responsible for several other rapes. According to the criminal complaint, he told the victims that he had raped other women on the North Side and in the Hill District.

Stover had previously been arrested for solicitation of prostitution.

He faces charges of rape, unlawful restraint, sex assault and indecent assault.
