Want A Personal Letter From Santa For Your Kids? Here's How

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Do your kids want a letter from Santa? The United States Postal Service can help.

The Anchorage, Alaska, post office will return letters complete with a "North Pole" postmark.

Here's what you need to do: Have your child write a letter to Santa and place it in an envelope marked "Santa Claus, North Pole."

When alone, secretly open the letter and write a personalized response. The USPS recommends writing on the back of the child's letter to save paper and so your child can see what they originally wrote.

"When responding as Santa, make the response as personal as possible by highlighting your child's accomplishments over the past year," the USPS suggests. "For example, helping around the house, receiving good grades in a particular subject at school or participating in community service activities."

Next, place your response in an envelope addressed to your child with "Santa, North Pole" as the return address. Add the appropriate postage onto the letter addressed to your child. Then, place the completed envelope into a larger envelope with the proper postage and send to:

USPS says letters must be received in Anchorage by December 15 in order for the post office to work it's magic.
