28-Year-Old Imperial Woman Arrested On Child Porn Charges

IMPERIAL (KDKA) -- An Imperial woman has been arrested on child pornography charges.

28-year-old Kaitlin Plascjak is charged with sexual abuse of children and criminal use of a communication facility.

Detectives became aware of Plascjak's case when Skype reported child pornography being uploaded from a computer with an IP address connected to her home.

When authorities arrived at Plascjak's home, she told them that she knew why they were there.

She told detectives that she has viewed child pornography since 2006, and that viewing child pornography is a coping mechanism for her because she was molested when she was younger.

Dozens of images of child pornography were found on a cell phone and external hard drive belonging to Plascjak.

She was released on a non-monetary bond with a preliminary hearing set for Dec. 12, 2016.

In the 16 years that the District Attorneys Office has participated in the FBI Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Cyber Crimes Task force, this is the first time that the office has arrested a female on charges of possessing child pornography.
