ROBINSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — Four deserving families got a helping hand, and then some, from a local furniture store, but the biggest surprise of all was saved for last.

It was door-to-door service, as four low-income families stepped out of a luxury coach, and into Bob’s Discount Furniture in Robinson Township. Thanks to Bob’s and the Salvation Army, they were about to receive free beds, one for each family member.

“And the icing on the cake was when we told the kids they got $300 to spend on whatever they wanted,” said furniture store spokeswoman Cathy Poulin.

You’d never guess this is salesman Ricky’s first day on the job. But it turns out that Ricky has a secret life.

“All right man,” he announced, revealing his football jersey. “I play football. I’m Arthur Moats, number 55 of the Pittsburgh Steelers.”

On a day of surprises, this topped them all. The “furniture salesman” turned out to be a linebacker for the Steelers.

“Me being a Steeler,” Arthur Moats said. “You get the opportunity to get this platform to make a difference, and it’s something these kids will remember forever.”
