Family Pets Killed In Armstrong County Fire
SOUTH BUFFALO TWP. (KDKA) -- An Armstrong County family lost two pets and their home was seriously damaged in a fire on Sunday.
Firefighters responded to Broadview Drive in South Buffalo Township around noon. Flames began in an unattached garage and spread to a home.
Two children -- ages 13 and 15 -- were home and were alerted by their dog. They escaped without injury, but the family's cat and guinea pig died in the fire.
It took crews about 30 minutes to gain control over the flames.

South Buffalo Township Fire Department reports the cause of that fire is undetermined, but is not believed to be suspicious.
Damage to the home has been estimated at $75,000.
