Man Charged With Murder In Crash That Killed 8-Year-Old

DERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A rear-end type crash killed an 8-year-old boy in Derry Township June. The man responsible for that crash was wanted for drug-related charges, and now he faces a murder charge as well.

State police say Adam Duffy, 31, slammed his SUV into the back of a Subaru driven by Anthony Anderson of Greensburg. Anderson had halted for a stop light.

Augustus Anderson, the driver's son, would die from his injuries.

"This individual shouldn't have been on the road," Trooper Steve Limani with the Pennsylvania State Police said. "It's traumatic to have any loss of life, but when you lose a child, I can only imagine what the family has to go through."

Duffy now faces a long list of charges including homicide by vehicle while under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle, careless driving and more.
