Homeowner Frustrated After Vehicle Crashes Into Yard, Lands In Pool

NORTH UNION TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A car went off the road and ended up in a swimming pool in Fayette County Thursday morning.

According to emergency dispatchers, the incident happened in the 200 block of Rolling Hills Estate Road in North Union Township around 7:30 a.m.

Police say the driver of a Dodge Neon lost control on a slippery road, went down over a hill and crashed into the pool.

Meanwhile, homeowner David Smith said this is not the first time a vehicle has careened onto their property.

"It's just kind of expected anymore. Since May 18 of last year, this is the third wreck in my yard and PennDOT says there's not a problem," Smith said. 'My grandkids can't even play in the pool. If they were in there right now they'd be dead."

The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was not harmed and the homeowner gave them some dry clothes.

It could be a couple of days before the car is removed from the pool because the ground is too wet for a truck to pull it out.
