Hospital Admissions For Heroin Overdoses Up 66 Percent

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The number of people being admitted to the hospital for heroin overdoses in Pennsylvania is up 66 percent in the past two years.

More than 1,500 people were admitted for a heroin overdose last year.

The Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council says heroin hospitalization costs totaled nearly $14 million.
