Cops: Man Attacks Father, 83, For Not Having Dinner Ready

TAYLOR, Pa. (AP) - A 49-year-old Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he beat his frail 83-year-old father because the older man didn't have dinner ready on time.

Taylor Borough police say Frank Steinetz III beat Frank Steinetz Jr. after an argument Monday evening.

Police say they responded after a neighbor heard screaming and called 911.

Police say the older man was treated and released from a hospital for bruises to his arms, leg and large bruise on his face.

Frank Steinetz III has been charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and harassment and was taken to the Lackawanna County jail. He faces a preliminary hearing Monday and doesn't have an attorney listed in online court records.
