EAST HILLS (KDKA) -- A man was injured in a shooting in East Hills on Sunday afternoon.

Officers were sent to UPMC Mercy just before 1:15 p.m. for a report that a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg had arrived at the hospital by private means.

Police were able to determine that the shooting happened in the 2200 block of Wilner Drive.

Earlier in the day -- just before 1 p.m. -- officers had been sent to that area for a report of a suspicious male. Police found the male in question, later identified as 20-year-old Tyreek Marsh, and found a pistol in his backpack.

Police say Marsh, of Perry South, shot the 21-year-old man for unknown reasons.

Marsh was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and carrying a firearm without a license.

The victim was last reported to be in stable condition.
