UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A man has pleaded guilty to charges in a western Pennsylvania police chase in which a woman was killed.

The (Uniontown) Herald-Standard reports that 26-year-old Jonathan Switch pleaded guilty Friday to homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude police and other counts.

Fayette County prosecutors said criminal homicide charges and one of two fleeing counts were dropped in exchange for the plea.

Authorities said Switch fled a traffic stop in October 2015 and swerved around a car, which was hit by a pursuing trooper's vehicle, killing 66-year-old Bendetta Miller.

Switch, who will be sentenced May 18, was scheduled for trial Monday. Prosecutors had moved to bar evidence about a $400,000 settlement of a civil suit by the victim's husband or questions about any discipline of the trooper.
