CARRICK (KDKA) -- Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire that damaged a home converted into apartments in Carrick on Tuesday night.
The fire broke out just before 10 p.m. at 47 Carrick Avenue.
Officials say the home had been renovated, and now houses two or three apartments.
A couple was home on the first floor of the building when the fire broke out, but a neighbor ran across the street to get them out.
"We got them out safe," said neighbor Kari Boul. "My dad knocked on the door for Rob and Georgette, they're the downstairs people, to get out. And the other people weren't home, but they have a baby, so we're just glad that everybody's safe."
One woman who lives upstairs showed up at the scene with a baby as crews were fighting the fire.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire, but it's believed it started in an upstairs apartment.
